RIVERSIDE EDC

EDC Board Election Results
Our 2024-2025 EDC Board elections were held at our June 6th meeting. We would like to congratulate our new EDC Officers, including:
  • President: Adam Eventov
  • Past President: Diane Strand
  • Second Vice President: Matthew Hyatt
  • Secretary: Janice Mrkonjic
  • Treasurer: Ann Shaw
The position of First Vice President is still available. Nominations will be held at our next board meeting on August 8th. If you have questions about the duties or requirements of this position, please reach out to Connie at cstopher@edcswca.com.

We would also like to thank Keith Krzewski (Past President), Diane Strand (President), and Kari McFall (Secretary) for their service to the Board and Executive Committee. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the EDC!
SelectUSA
Our Executive Director, Connie Stopher CEcD, recently attended SelectUSA 2024. She was selected for the third year to represent the region as part of the Governor's delegation to SelectUSA. This year's event was the largest in its ten-year history.

SelectUSA hosts thousands of business representatives from across the globe who are actively looking to move to the U.S. It has been the most valuable event for our foreign direct investment efforts. PV Circonomy, EasyCycle, Starz Electronics, and Deploi were all projects that came from SelectUSA.

Connie will be reporting more on this event at our August Board meeting. We would like to thank the Go-Biz office for their support and the inclusion of the EDC for three years running.
Thrive Catalyst Funding: Round 2
The second round of Thrive Catalyst Funding begins on July 25th and will be available for application through August 19th. We strongly encourage anyone working in the areas of job creation, uplifting disadvantaged communities, and improving the climate to consider applying.

As a reminder, there are three different funding "lanes":

Lane A: Early phase ideas = funding up to $25K
Lane B: Reading for investment and job creation = funding up to $250K
Lane C: Needs final funding to begin development = funding up to $1 million

For questions, please reach out to Connie at cstopher@edcswca.com
EDC Board Retreat

The EDC Board Retreat will be held on August 27th. If you are a member of the board, you should have received a save the date calendar invitation. Connie will be reaching out with additional details on the agenda. Last year was our first board retreat, and it helped us set priorities for the coming year and gave our newly-elected board members the opportunity to network and collaborate across the region.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Last year, we decided to offer annual sponsorship  opportunities. Rather than reaching out for every singular event, an annual sponsorship allows you to provide one sponsorship but support and be recognized at every single event through the year. These sponsorships allow us to elevate our presence at all our events from trade shows to our FAM tour, the trade mission to Taiwan, and everything in between. Take a look at some of our upcoming Fall 2024 events, and if you're interested in learning more about sponsorships or would like to be one of our 24-25 sponsors, please reach out to Connie at cstopher@edcswca.com.

Thank you to Menifee VFW Post 1956 and Southwest Healthcare for being our latest 2024-25 Sponsors!
No July Board Meeting
Just a reminder that there will be no EDC Board Meeting in July. Our next meeting will be held on August 8th, 2024 in Menifee.
