First Sergeant Jose M Lugo (USMC, RET)

 

First Sergeant Jose Lugo was born in Juarez, Mexico. After graduating Morningside High School in Inglewood, CA, he enlisted in the Marines on June 20, 1991.

He served in numerous infantry billets in his 24 years of service from Rifleman to Company Gunnery Sergeant. Also serving as a Drill Instructor in MCRD San Diego and as a Company First Sergeant to Company G at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA.

First Sergeant Lugo deployed 10 times in his career with three deployments to Iraq.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (with gold star in lieu of 2nd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with gold star in lieu of 4th award), Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal,  Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

First Sergeant Lugo is married to Rosa Lugo of Fallbrook, CA. He has a daughter, Crystina 27, and to sons, Alex 16 and Daniel 13.
