Independence Day Parade

Independence Day On July 4, 1776, the signers of the Declaration of Independence boldly asserted that all are "created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Voice of Democracy

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars' (VFW) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 26,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 by the Oct. 31 deadline who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program.

VFW’s Patriot’s Pen

Conducted nationwide, this VFW-sponsored youth essay competition gives students an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. Patriot’s Pen is open to 6th, 7th and 8th-grade students enrolled by the Oct. 31 deadline in public, private or parochial schools.

Buddy Poppies

The VFW was the first veterans’ organization to adopt the poppy and develop a national distribution campaign. For more than 75 years, the VFW’s Buddy Poppy program has raised millions of dollars in support of veterans’ welfare and the well being of their dependents.

Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Third District Veterans Expo

I'm excited to announce the Third District Veterans Expo, hosted in partnership with the Riverside County Office of Veteran Services!

Make sure to join us on Friday, July 24th! This expo will include mental health support, health and wellness information, free lunch, and so much more. We look forward to seeing you there! Please help us spread the word by sharing with your family, friends, and neighbors.
